Community Shred Call for Entries

Was muss ich tun:

Gratulation an Alle! Am Freitag wird wahrscheinlich der Sieger bekannt gegeben!

Freebord BEV Contest

Freebord presents the Best Edited Video Contest: We provide the footage, You edit the video.

Not everyone can ride like the pros, but lots of you can edit like one. Now is your chance to make your own video with some of the best riding footage from the Freebord Pro Team.

We have a bunch of unseen HD footage from the 2010 Team, just waiting to be cut into a sick riding video. Download the provided footage here and edit into a 1-5 minute video for the web. Entries Due Monday, March 4th, 2011.

The winner will be rewarded $500 cash and their video will be featured on Freebord.com, Facebook, Youtube and Freebord International sites around the world.

Check out Freebord.com/bev for all info, and help spread the word. You don’t need to be a Freeborder to enter!

Team Submissions 2011

Freebord is now accepting submissions for the 2011 Pro Team. If you would like to be considered, you have until December 31, 2010 to submit.

Here’s how it works:

  • Put together a 2 minute edited highlight reel that shows us what you got (make sure you highlight all aspects of your riding). We want your best raw riding clips sequenced together into a 2 minute max video. You can use clips we have already seen from this year or new footage.
  • We will be looking 100% at the quality of your riding, not your editing – so your video should showcase your best riding clips. Period. This is not a concept video. You can add music if you want or keep the audio raw – your call – but no effects otherwise.
  • For reference, check out last year’s team submissions. This is the level of riding you should be aiming for.
  • Upload your video to any video hosting site (Vimeo, Youtube, Dailymotion….) and email the link to team@freebord.com.
  • We will only accept one video per rider.
  • All videos are due by December 31, 2010. No late submissions will be considered.

We will announce the 2011 team early in January. If we select you to the team, your team submission video will be the first video that we use for your team section on our website.

Good luck and let us know if you have any questions…

Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 2010

The 8th edition of the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam will open the European winter-season for the snowboard-community and QParks once again gathers the crème de la crème of riders, industry and media around the Dachstein glacier. More than 5000 visitors at the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein, over 3000 party-animals at the roaring after-contest-parties in Schladming and around 160 riders from more than 20 different countries. Under the motto “get jammed”, this year again the Swatch TTR 4Star Contest will offer lavish entertainment to all visitors: One of the best playgrounds in Europe for the jet set of international riders, the considerable prizemoney of 20.000 USD and altogether renowned “Jam-atmosphere” in the valley and on the glacier!

  • Contest Format: Slopestyle TTR 4****
  • Prizemoney: USD 20.000
  • Date: November 12-14, 2010
  • Location: Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein (Austria)
  • Accommodation & Party: Schladming, Dachstein (Austria)
  • Agency/Organization: QParks/Young Mountain Marketing GmbH

History

Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam… what’s hidden behind this name?

Out of a spontaneous brain wave of a motivated snowboard crew, the Pleasure Jam was established in October 2003. Now seven years later, the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam has become an institution for the whole European snowboard scene and is one of the biggest Austrian snowboard events.

In 2008 the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam made a big step forward, got 4stars and became the EuropeanSwatch TTR World Snowboard Tour kick-off event. Besides the highly sought-after TTR Tour points, it since then offered its riders also a prize money of 20.000 US$. The riding-level was incredibly high and many big names like Eero Ettala, Andreas Wiig and Stefan Gimpl threw down some of the most technical “bangers” ever seen on the Dachstein glacier.

The hard and innovative contest runs continued in the year 2009, when Elias Elhardt from Germany won the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam with an outstanding second run (Frontside 7, Backside 1080 Doublecork, Backflip). He even got the best trick award with his Backside 1080 Doublecork and won a 3-week-surftrip to the legendary Balicamp. The last two years the contest line consisted of three kickers in a row, ideal medium to large jumps which are just perfect to get the pros into contest mode at the beginning of a long season. So which tricks can we expect this year? The triple cork… we’ll see!
